Cala Mondragó

Santanyí, South-East Mallorca

A protected beach inside a natural park, with shallow turquoise water ideal for families. Two coves side by side and walking trails through pine woods.

About Cala Mondragó

Cala Mondragó lies within the Parc Natural de Mondragó, a protected area on the south-east coast near Santanyí. The site actually includes two small beaches separated by a rocky outcrop: S'Amarador and Cala Mondragó (also known as Ses Fonts de n'Alís). Both feature fine white sand and shallow, clear water that warms quickly in summer, making this one of the best family beaches in Mallorca. Because the area is protected, the surroundings are entirely natural: pine forest, juniper bushes and limestone cliffs rather than apartment blocks. A network of well-marked walking trails connects the two coves and leads along the coast, ideal for a short hike before or after a swim.

How to get there

From Santanyí, follow signs to Portopetro and then Mondragó Natural Park. Parking is paid and located a short walk from the beaches. Public buses connect nearby Portopetro and Cala d'Or with the park entrance in summer.

💡Tips for visiting

Park rangers enforce the rules strictly: no tents, no loud music, no fires. Combine the visit with the circular walking trail for the best experience. The shallow water is perfect for small children.
