Platja de Muro

Muro, North Mallorca

Long north-coast beach with fine sand and shallow water, ideal for families and water sports. Full services and next to the s'Albufera nature reserve.

About Platja de Muro

Platja de Muro stretches for more than six kilometres along the Bay of Alcúdia in the north of Mallorca, between Alcúdia and Can Picafort. Its defining features are the exceptional quality of the fine white sand and the very shallow water, which extends for tens of metres before reaching swimming depth. This makes it one of the safest and most popular beaches on the island for families with small children. The beach has held Blue Flag status for many years, meaning consistent water quality and high service standards. Facilities include sunbed rental, beach bars, water sports rental (paddleboards, kayaks, pedalos), and lifeguards. Directly inland lies the Parc Natural de s'Albufera, a major wetland reserve for birdwatching.

How to get there

From Palma take the Ma-13 motorway north towards Alcúdia. There are several beach access points with free and paid parking along the coastal road. Local buses from Alcúdia and Can Picafort stop at the beach.

💡Tips for visiting

The best stretch of sand is around the fifth and sixth sectors of the beach, further from Can Picafort and closer to the Albufera reserve. Combine with a bird-watching walk in the s'Albufera wetlands for a full-day outing.
