Mercat de l'Olivar

Palma de Mallorca · Monday to Saturday

Palma's main food market, a covered hall open Monday to Saturday with the freshest local produce, fish and meat.

About Mercat de l'Olivar

The Mercat de l'Olivar is where most of Palma's restaurants and residents shop for fresh food. Housed in a large covered building just off Plaça Major, it has dozens of stalls selling the island's best produce: fish straight from the harbour, fresh meats and sobrassada, fruit and vegetables, cheeses and olives. Unlike the weekly village markets, this one is a daily affair (closed only on Sundays).

What to look for

  • Freshest fish in Palma
  • Mallorcan cheeses & cured meats
  • Tapas bars inside the market
  • Great for self-catering stays

💡Visitor tips

Come before noon for the best selection. Grab a coffee and a pa amb oli at one of the bars inside the market — it's a local ritual. Parking is hard in this area, use public transport.
